Mira Bhayandar: The proposed link road connecting Dahisar to Mira-Bhayander is likely to experience a delay in its commencement due to the pending receipt of No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the CRZ, Forest Department, and Environment Department. Despite the issuance of tenders and work orders, the project's timeline is expected to be pushed further by at least three months.

According to an official, Larsen & Toubro is responsible for overseeing the construction of the project, including obtaining the necessary clearances and permissions. The BMC has taken on the financial responsibility for the project, with the total cost now estimated at ₹4,027 crore. The process for obtaining NOCs from these departments has been initiated, but the approval process is anticipated to take several months, an official said.

Consequently, the construction of the 5.3 km long link road, which will span across mangroves, salt pan land, and Dahisar Creek, is expected to commence only by the end of October or November.

The elevated road, estimated to cost ₹4027 crore, will feature a 45-meter width and four lanes on both sides. It will commence from the Kandarpada Metro Station Link Road in Dahisar West and culminate at the Subhash Chandra Bose Ground in Bhayander West, near Uttan Road. The project is expected to reduce travel time from 45 minutes to just 10 minutes and alleviate the load on Dahisar check naka by approximately 35 percent.

This elevated road will be a signal free multilevel road. It will have interchange on both sides. A 7-storey parking equipped with modern technology will be built here, where 550 vehicles can be parked. There will also be a bus terminal and transport hub, which will be connected to the metro.

The Dahisar-Mira-Bhayander elevated corridor is part of a larger initiative to enhance connectivity between Mumbai and neighboring cities, including Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Mira-Bhayander, and Vasai-Virar. The project's completion will provide a direct link to Nariman Point in South Mumbai, via the coastal road, and offer an alternative to the Western Express Highway and local train services.
